You can eat out and still eat healthy:

  • Avoid the items on the menu’s that say fried, basted, braised, au gratin, crispy, escalloped, pan-fried, sautéed, stewed or stuffed foods. These items are usually high in fat.
  • Eat salads, but order dressing on the side. Often restaurants put more dressing on than necessary and nobody likes a soggy salad.
  • To avoid high sodium foods watch for these key words: pickled, in cocktail sauce, smoked, in broth or au jus, in a tomato base, or in soy or teriyaki sauce.
